The refrigerator is now clean

My husband brought it to my attention that my eldest daughter hasn’t eaten dinner at least 6 of the last 7 nights. I didn’t realize that it was that bad. So we decided that it’s time to change. Regardless of whether you agree with this attempt at trying to get our child to eat, I’ve accomplished some things today with the advantage of supervising the kitchen table for the past three hours.

I have cleaned the refrigerator. I took out all the food, one shelf at a time though. I was a bit too lazy to get the cooler out of the garage. I cleaned it with warm soapy water, dried it off, and put plastic wrap around it because I saw that on Pinterest.

There are some things that come from making your kid sit at the table until she eats her lunch.

Mail Holder

I wanted to make a mail holder for our home office, but I needed some rather stiff fabric. I used the fabric to the left because I was pretty sure my husband wouldn’t be too fond of the bright neon orange below.

The first thing I did was to iron the fabric, first to get the wrinkles out, then second to form the creases to stick the mail in.

I sewed the ends and the sides together so it wouldn’t fall apart.

I took the piece of cardboard that came with my frame and wrapped the fabric around it, and put it in the frame.

Now it’s hanging up inside the door to the office.

Baby Room

The other room upstairs is finally cleared out. Oh wait, except for the closet of which is my aunt and uncles stuff that wouldn’t fit in the barn. So it’s still not completely ours.

I cleaned the bass boards and put spackling over the holes. I need to sand them then paint over them. I haven’t decided what color I’m going to use for the trim. Probably some form of white. The rest of the room is going to be green and brown.

The walls are lath and plaster and need to be repaired before we paint them. I’m going to let my husband do that so it’ll look very nice.

It’s the first time I’ve been able to paint any rooms in my lifetime ever. I’m so excited to do that.

What do stay-at-home moms do?

Since my husband would like me to stay home, and I wouldn’t mind that myself, I need to do something productive during the day, besides taking care of baby Anastasia.

So I’m making a list of things that I need to do.

Water flowers

Menu Planning

Vacuum & Mop Floor

Grocery Shopping

Vacuum sofas

Maybe I’ll start small to not get overwhelmed
