Well the gloves are done.
This dress is too much trouble. I have yet to figure out how I’m going to do the overskirt. I just did this dress out of the top of my head. Next year, if I’m making something I will definitely buy a pattern. I also probably need to do a skirt to go underneath to pouf it out a little, but I’m not sure I’m going to get there. I should definitely start this before October.
My girls love Super Why! They run around and ask me to tie blankets around their necks for capes. 🙂
I’m going to make some handmade costumes. I’m going to knit gloves, the hand warmers, and Wonde Red’s hat.
I’ll post updates on what I’ve got done.
Our Facebook page is set up now.

Here’s some eye candy, my sister-in-law’s baby quilt.
My daughter got into my knitting basket.Ugh
We went to the park this weekend. It has miles of trails. I thought instead of just walking, I’d let my daughter take her tricycle out for a spin. We usually only use the tricycle in the house because I’m not crazy enough to let four toddlers 3 and under outside with wheels. Next we just need to get a bicycle with training wheels, a bike for me and we can have a family biking outing. I’m looking forward to that.
I found these on my tomato plants this morning. I got to close and then I cried “what the heck is that?” I had never seen one before. They were clearing off the leaves on my plants and some tomatoes. They look rather sad now. Evidently they are hornworms, and there’s nothing to do but take them off. No, I did not use my hands directly. I’m a little squeamish for that. I can tell you that they squirt green juice if it takes a while to take them off with a long metal scooper thing, yes, that is the technical term. I found four of them this morning, and just now I found two more. I took four of my almost ripe tomatoes off the plants just in case I didn’t see one and it decided to eat my whole plant while I was sleeping.
This morning when I was picking them off, my daughter and nephew, 3 and almost 3, respectively, were pointing and saying “worm!” and screaming. They told me they saw a worm… everywhere apparently. I never really understood how annoying it was to have someone cry wolf.
We got a new kitten yesterday. He’s cute. When we were driving home with him I saw the word Boomer on a billboard. I said it out loud and everybody else loved it.
Well, except my 1 1/2 year old…. she’s scared of Boomer and cries and wants to be held every time he’s near her. I think she’ll grow out of it…. because if not, that’ll get old real fast.
He’s very playful and cute. My husband really likes him.
I finished this yesterday. I had a small ball of grey yarn that I was hoping would be all I needed. I was able to finish the hat with less than a foot of leftover yarn. Woot!
