Instead of buying gloves for halloween… besides who knows where to find those nice gloves in pink…. for a relatively cheap price? I decided to knit them. It’s my first time knitting gloves. I’ve done mittens, but not gloves. I used to think that it’s very difficult to pick up stitches, but actually, it’s not that bad. I think I get better at it each time I do it.
I need to put a bright green fringe on the cuff, but other than that, I have one hand done. I used this pattern. I have to say that it is confusing. I had to assume several things for it to make sense to me. Maybe I just don’t have enough experience reading patterns, but they should try and make it a little bit easier. Plus the format kind of sucks.
I’ve been making booties like there’s no tomorrow. They don’t take very long to make, which is nice. I find that sewing seams is not as great as I thought. I suppose I prefer knitting in the round. The colors are flame orange, military camouflage, purple, pink, and yellow. The yellow ones are spoken for.
I knit this hat for a new infant due in December, to go with the yellow booties. Now I have to make mittens, and then another set of hat, booties, and mittens.
I promised my aunt a hat… a while ago. She requested these colors. 🙂 It’s like the red hat society. It should be done within the next week, depending on how my children behave and if I can knit while they’re awake or if I have to do it when they are asleep.
I went to the local yarn store today. I haven’t been to the store … wow… since before I was married and that was like almost 4 years ago. It changed a lot. But I found this skein of yarn and I never knew how much you could really like yarn until I saw this one. It’s Universal Yarn Bamboo Pop, color: Bright Spot. I think I’ll make myself a hat out of it. It’s so soft. I just want to bury my face in it.
